Just a few minutes – give or take 10 to 15 minutes – from preparation and baking and soon you’ll be enjoying the best-tasting and healthy pizza you’ve ever had in a while. It works both as low carb snacks or as entire meals. It’s no different from your usual pizza since you can bring it with you everywhere and anywhere you go. The best part: all the ingredients you’ll be using are guaranteed to be fresh, healthy, and won’t cost you a lot.
There are two components in the preparation of your low carb pizza: the crust and the sauce. This is just like you making other types of pizzas. The crust and the sauce can be prepared separately, only to be combined when you need it. Keep the crust frozen and the sauce refrigerated, for best results.
Make the crust from flax meal and Parmesan cheese; the flax meal is made from very low carb ground flax seed and the Parmesan cheese binds the whole thing together while adding flavor. You can make a bunch of these crusts in one go and then place each in a large ziplock bag and store in the freezer until you’re ready to use it. You don’t even have to spend so much time on the sauce and toppings when you don’t feel like it because you can eat the crust as is. It will turn into a quick snack when dipped in olive oil and vinegar.
If you go ahead and make the pizza, then definitely make this sauce. It’s a simple sauce, but it’s just bursting with flavors. You can use it on non low carb pizzas as well! You can make this amazing Italian homemade sauce and store it for future use on your pizza. The sauce contains a variety of herbs, tomato paste and olive oil. Even a small can of tomato paste will be enough to create pizza sauce for 10 pizzas, maybe more!
Finally, of course, there are the toppings. Don’t worry, most pizza toppings are low carb so you need only add your usual favorites and some mozzarella slices. For ease, I just place a few slices of mozzarella with a few slices of pepperoni on top. If you like sausage then put some small chunks of sausage on it. Or how about a more upscale pizza like arugula and prosciutto. You would never run out of possibilities!
Just place the pizza into the oven, wait for 10 minutes for it to cook, and tada! Your pizza is ready for you! Make sure the cheese is melted. It’s so easy it barely feels like cooking!
